we've settled on a book for our first discussion......IO NON HA PAURA by NICCOLO AMMANNITI. For those of us who won't be struggling with the dictionary, some people have also suggested NOVE CENTO by ALESSANDRO BARICCO - maybe a group who'd like to stay a bit later, or talk about this after we've spoken about the first one?
What we'll be discussing on this book is some of the following:
characters........favourite/least favourite
extract/paragraph/chapter...........favourite/least favourite
what you thought could have happened instead.....would you change anything.
please suggest other areas that you think would be fun to talk about the book.
Am really sorry to hear that we missed out on 2 of you in December.........I'm so sorry about that. i kept an eye out for anyone who looked like they were alone or looking for someone. For future meetings, I'll have something Italian-ish on the table. This time anyway it should be easier as we'll all be clutching our books, dictionaries, etc.
Our next meeting is going to be in Teuchters as usual, this time hopefully further away from the fire. Usual time - 7ish.
